as a Brooklyn resident, I want to show my physical support at the Occupation, but I don’t want to get beaten, tortured, and potentially killed. I appreciate the gathers, permanent and temporary, on a much deeper level now, understanding that they not only stand up for millions of people who cannot attend but they risk their lives in order to protect it. THAT is protecting and serving. NOT what the criminal police ‘represent’.
